We've gone out with Jon twice now, in Switzerland and Chamonix. He's an excellent guide and hit a great balance of challenging us while making sure we had fun. We both learnt loads of essential mountaineering and risk management skills for adventuring outdoors that continue to serve us well as we go out more on our own. Jon's experience and love for the mountains shines through and we'd highly recommend him.

Jon was one of a team of 3 guides who guided myself and 3 friends on a holiday to the Swiss alps. Jon guided me on a few routes including an epic day on the Allalinhorn (4027m) and our final day on the Half Breithorn Traverse (4164m) I have to say I was not the easiest of clients and despite being keen and determined I did not find the routes easy. Jon was the perfect guide, he was chatty and friendly without being overbearing and patronising. He focussed on my aspirations and adopted an appropriate pace to make these achievable. He instinctively knew when to chat and encourage, when to be assertive and direct and when to give me some space! He did and said things without a “song and dance” to secure my safety and ensure correct procedures were always followed. He never made me feel stupid and was generous with compliments. Jon is very personable, great company with a good sense of humour and a genuinely nice guy. As a group we all achieved a lot in our week, we pushed ourselves but had a real laugh at the same time. From what we saw it was apparent how dangerous the mountains can be but Jon’s knowledge, experience and care made us feel safe. I would not hesitate to recommend Jon as a guide.
